About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Automation and Controls Technician (2nd Shift). The hourly rate for this position is $39.82 - $52.72 plus $1 shift differential per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. This position offers a $3,000 bonus (minus applicable taxes), paid in three installments: $1,000 after the 60‑day probationary period, $1,000 after six months of employment, and $1,000 after 12 months. The timing of the payment will be as soon as administratively possible following the 60 days, six month and year of employment time frames. You must be an active employee at each payment date to receive the corresponding installment.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a maintenance electronics technician and/or controls in a manufacturing environment and must have proficiency with PLC and other electronics equipment.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, layout, install, maintain, program, and trouble shoot electrical equipment and electronic controls.
  • Create specifications for electrical systems and wiring diagrams for associated automation controls system and equipment.
  • Create new code on their own to control computerized systems and robotic devices.
  • Program using various programming languages including but not limited to PLC Ladder Logic and Visual Basic.
  • Work from complicated drawings, specifications, or wiring diagrams and have a hands-on knowledge of electricity and electronics.
  • Work without drawings and create such drawings when necessary for project work.
  • Keep current with new developments in their respective field.
  • Direct the work of helpers, instruct plant emergency response members.
  • Adhere to all facility safety guidelines and encourage communication and participation of personnel to further identify and reduce/eliminate potential hazards.
  • Perform all work in accordance with National Electrical Code Requirements.
  • Adhere to and support all facility environmental guidelines and procedures to identify additional pollution prevention projects to reduce waste and utility consumption.
  • Responsible for organization and cleanliness of the work area, and will support and abide by all procedures set forth to assure product and process quality and plant manufacturing principles
