The Automation Controls Co Op position for student in the chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering or computer science fields at the SI Group. The position will provide an opportunity for students to gain valuable work experience at a chemical production facility in a part-time capacity while finishing their education. The successful applicants will be mentored by experienced engineers in their field on assignments that range from small capital projects to supporting day to day activities. In addition to the specific assigned projects / tasks, the student will have the opportunity to spend time interacting with and or shadowing various functions on site (production, logistics, lab, maintenance). 1. AspenOne Process Explorer Graphics and Documentation Develop and update process graphics in AspenOne Process Explorer. Convert existing OSI PI calculations and reports using AspenCalc, SQL++, and reporting tools. Gain exposure to chemical processes, MS Office, Aspen Historian, SQL development, and control system graphics. 2. Process and Control System Configuration Assist with configuration of DCS and PLC control systems. Develop process graphics and learn programming methods including Structured Text, Function Block, Sequential Function Chart, and Ladder Logic. 3. Control Systems Diagrams and Documentation Update control system diagrams and related documents. Learn and apply AutoCAD and/or Visio for documentation tasks. 4. Computer Hardware and Installation Support setup of computers, servers, and related installations. Gain experience with virtualization, computer hardware, and system installation.
