About The Position

Come grow with us by joining our team as a Auto Body technician! In this critical role, you will work alongside other professionals within the team and other departments. You must have the ability to diagnose, test, and repair vehicles and an understanding of using computerized diagnostics equipment and service manuals. The position required experience in one or more of the following areas: Automobile, Medium/Heavy Truck, School Bus, and Transit Bus. We are looking for candidates with work experience in an automotive / Truck / Fleet service. Candidates must have a current Driver’s License. Position reports to the Service Manager. What we offer! Requirements

  • Minimum of three years previous experience in Auto body work.
  • Knowledge of the tools materials, equipment and techniques of the trade.
  • Skill in the use of tools, materials and equipment of the trade.
  • Physical strength and stamina.
  • Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
  • Creativity and an eye for detail.
  • Patience to focus on precise work.
  • An interest in keeping up to date on latest techniques and materials.
  • Awareness of safe working procedures.
  • Good interpersonal skills in working with co-workers and customers.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work alone or as a member of a team
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Will be required to do frequent kneeling, stooping, squatting, crawling, and climbing to perform multiple tasks of position.
  • Must have good manual dexterity.
  • Must have the ability to maintain a valid driver’s license, which includes successfully completing Medical Exam, Driving Test, and all other license requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicles for structural damage.
  • Review damage reports, prepare cost estimates, and plan work for vehicles.
  • Remove damaged body parts and realign frames and chassis to repair structural damage.
  • Hammer out or patch dents, dimples, and other minor body damage.
  • Fit, attach, and weld replacement parts into place.
  • Document time spent on each job each day.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the Company's Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions withcustomers, co-workers and suppliers.
  • Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
  • Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
  • Tend or operate equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents orotherwise prepare items for application of paint, lacquer or other protective or decorativecoatings.
  • May prepare and apply stencils, computer-generated decals or other decorative items onfinished products.
  • Maintain work area in clean and safe condition.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
