About The Position

Crown Collision Center in St. Petersburg FL is hiring a Mechanical Technician. This position is for a skilled-level technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs on mechanical-related collision damages in addition to being specialized in particular areas of repair, and who has acquired necessary skills as a general service technician. Two-Five (2-5) years of Technical experience is preferred. Crown Collision Center is part of Crown Automotive Group, a family-owned dealership headquartered in St. Petersburg FL. Requirements

  • Two-Five years technical experience, preferred
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Attention to detail imperative
  • Interpersonal/communication skills and customer service skills.
  • Maintains professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Commitment to company values.
  • Current Driver’s License and ability to meet US employment and Crown’s eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
  • Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
  • Notifies Estimator of any additional repairs needed.
  • Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
  • Road tests vehicles when required.
  • Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
  • Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
  • Diagnose, service, and repair vehicles in accordance with all manufacturers’ specifications, and all applicable safety requirements.
  • Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean.
  • Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Keeps shop area neat and clean.
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
  • Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Attends department meetings as requested.
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
  • Other duties may be assigned, based on company’s needs.
