About The Position

As a Service Technician at Huntington Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram Hyundai Genesis, you play a crucial role in the automotive industry by inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles. Your primary responsibilities revolve around ensuring that vehicles are safe, reliable, in proper working condition while striving to fix it the first visit. The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to: Basic Maintenance Services: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, tire repairs, brakes and filter/fluid changes, NYS Inspections, battery replacements, etc. Diagnosis of Vehicles: Properly diagnose and repair mechanical and electric issues in the vehicle. Review customer concerns, bill an estimate and confirm repairs are complete and operate as designed. If no problem is found, notify the Assistant Service Manager. Continuous Learning: Maintain and complete required manufacturer trainings and always strive to level up Record-Keeping: Maintain clear and legible records of services performed. Properly fill out the Multi Point Inspection. Notify Advisor of any recommended or needed services from the MPI. Maintain up to date tech notes in the DMS system for advisors and management to keep track of progress of repairs. Communication: Communicate effectively with the parts department, service management, service dispatch, and service advisors about their RO’s, parts needed/ordered/ and any findings. Cleanliness: Ensuring returning the vehicle settings to the customer's preferences and ensuring that no garbage, grease stains, fingerprints, or other blemishes are left behind. In summary, an Automotive Technician is responsible for the comprehensive care and maintenance of vehicles, including diagnosing and repairing issues, conducting routine maintenance, and providing excellent customer service. They must stay knowledgeable about automotive technology and safety standards while performing their duties efficiently and safely.

Requirements

  • Hold a Valid and Clean Drivers License
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Be able to stand up to 6-8 hours a day
  • Have your own set of tools and toolbox
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Be able to bend, stretch, reach and climb
  • Be able to lift up to 70 pounds
  • Schedule flexibility - ability to work Saturdays
  • Outstanding communication skills- verbal & written
  • Professional appearance
  • Self motivated
  • Knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures.
  • Proficient in using computer software and systems, along with Tablet apps
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changing technologies and industry

  • Hold a New York State Inspectors License (A Plus!)
  • FCA/Stellantis Experience (A Plus!)
