About The Position

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced AV Field Engineer / Service Technician to support a leading national AV integration firm. This role is ideal for a technical professional with strong networking fundamentals who is looking to deepen their skills in control system programming and advanced system configuration. You will provide onsite service, troubleshooting, and support for enterprise-level audiovisual environments including executive boardrooms, conference centers, and complex corporate AV deployments. Requirements

  • Candidates must be able to perform programming‑related service tasks, including:
  • Downloading, modifying, and uploading programming using Crestron Toolbox.
  • Working within Biamp and QSC software environments for DSP configuration.
  • Strong understanding of AV signal flow and system integration.
  • Ability to troubleshoot both software and network‑based issues (IP addressing, VLANs, Dante, control system connectivity).
  • Effective communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Professionalism and poise when supporting executive‑level end users.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability in dynamic environments.
  • Customer-focused approach and the ability to build trust with clients.
  • Daily travel throughout the Silicon Valley market is required.
  • You will return home each night; no overnight travel expected.
  • A personal vehicle is required; mileage and work-related travel expenses are reimbursed.
  • Two-year technical diploma or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of three years working in field service for audiovisual systems.

Nice To Haves

  • CTS certification is highly preferred.
  • Ideal candidates will have a strong networking foundation and interest in advancing into programming and system configuration.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair AV systems and components at customer sites.
  • Service and support the following technologies: Crestron DM/NVX, AMX, and custom control systems
  • Biamp and QSC audio DSP platforms
  • Dante audio networks
  • Video teleconferencing systems
  • AV-over-IP solutions across LAN/WAN environments
  • Projection systems, video walls, and digital signage
  • Audio systems including amplifiers, microphones, and speakers
  • RF systems (analog and digital – limited but helpful)
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, system testing, and site surveys.
  • Prepare clear and concise service reports and documentation.
  • Manage multiple service assignments and provide mentorship to junior/intermediate technicians.
