About The Position

TEKsystems is seeking a strong AV Service Technician to support a national enterprise AV integrator. This is a field service role supporting corporate customers located along the I‑90 / I‑91 / I‑84 corridor, including New Haven, Hartford, Springfield, Worcester, Boston, and the surrounding areas. This position focuses on service, troubleshooting, system checks, and basic software adjustments—not full-scale integration work. You will be responsible for resolving AV issues in executive boardrooms, conference centers, and enterprise collaboration spaces. Requirements

  • 3+ years of AV field service experience (integration company background preferred but not required).
  • Strong hands-on AV troubleshooting skills in live corporate environments.
  • Ability to download and modify existing DSP and control system files (no custom programming needed).
  • Understanding of AV signal flow, audio/video routing, EDID, HDCP, and common AV hardware.
  • Basic network troubleshooting (IP conflicts, VLAN awareness, basic switch support).
  • Comfortable reading drawings, wiring schematics, and system documentation.
  • Professional communication with corporate and executive users.
  • Ability to manage service tickets independently.
  • Calm problem-solving approach in high‑visibility environments.
  • Customer‑focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Daily travel within the Boston ⇄ New Haven corridor.
  • You return home every night — no overnights.
  • Personal vehicle required; mileage and work-related travel expenses reimbursed.

Nice To Haves

  • CTS, CTS-I, Biamp, Crestron, QSC, Dante, or similar credentials.
  • Network+ or CCNA is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to AV service tickets across corporate enterprise environments.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting of AV systems, control interfaces, audio issues, video routing, and connectivity problems.
  • Diagnose AV-related network issues (IP conflicts, connectivity issues, basic switch concerns).
  • Download, upload, and make minor modifications to:
  • Crestron control system programming (touch panel changes, config adjustments)
  • Biamp Tesira firmware/configuration updates
  • Apply firmware updates, execute device resets, and perform configuration changes as needed.
  • Support AV technologies such as:
  • Crestron (DM, NVX, touch panels)
  • Biamp Tesira DSP
  • Extron/AMX control platforms (basic familiarity helpful)
  • Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Cisco endpoints
  • AV-over-IP platforms (NVX, SDVoE)
  • Displays, projectors, video walls, and switching systems
  • Collaborate with IT teams when network-related issues occur.
  • Document all service activities clearly and professionally.
