Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as Onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the AVI shop on a full-time basis. The Role: The AVI Liaison is the interface between our GM internal customers and an experienced and technical build shop. This position is hands-on and requires a strong background in CAD and prototype fabrication. You will be required to work daily with the AVI shop technicians to plan and execute the fabrication of simple parts, to full assemblies. This is a fast-paced environment that will require working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Extensive background working in or with a prototype shop.
  • Strong NX design skills-NX Sheetmetal-Drafting-Modeling
  • An understanding of machining, Press brake forming, and tool design.
  • Ability to work fast on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of basic 3d printing.

Nice To Haves

  • CMM skills-Polyworks
  • 5+ years of mechanical design experience.
  • Previous experience in a shop as a fabrication build technician.

Responsibilities

  • Work with our Customers to clearly define the request and timing.
  • Work with the AVI shop to define the build process and set the build schedule.
  • Mange the overall project with input of the lead technician.
  • A strong CAD Design background in required. You will be required to quickly design all weld and assembly fixtures for the shop.
  • You will create all part fabrication blueprints and Sheetmetal blank cut files.
  • You will use your creativity and design skills to bring a customer’s napkin sketch to life.
  • Will attend customer design reviews when required.
