About The Position

Oversees and maintains University fleet of FAA part 141 aircraft trainers. Duties: Interacts with Supervisor of Department flight Ops and Chief Flight Instructor Mains strict compliance with all FAA and aircraft manufacturers airworthiness and safety directives, to include Piper Warrior III, Seminole, King Air, Cessna Aerobat, Piper Archer. Cleans and details outside and inside of aircraft. Investigates technical compliance orders. Mains aircraft logbooks and records. Performs daily inspection of aircraft fleet. Order parts and advises and collaborates on maintenance diagnosis. Inspects new parts for integrity. Keeps aviation shop hangar and work areas orderly and clean. Keeps shop equipment in operable condition. Complies with campus and departmental safety procedures/policies and University, OSHA, and FAA recommended practices, policies and procedures. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, Vo-Tec or Trade School.
  • Basic math functions with aircraft wt & balance calculations.
  • Read/understand tech orders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant License.
  • Flight School Graduate of FAA certified A & P aircraft mechanic school.
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire date.
