About The Position

The Aviation Painter is responsible for the direct hands-on labor necessary to complete the painting process of aviation parts to customer and company specifications, including surface preparation and paint application.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Adherence to personal protection requirements (safety glasses, respirator, etc.).
  • Adherence to company general policies and quality procedures.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, paint application methods, and use of paint equipment.
  • Attention to detail – precision in applying paint and ensuring a flawless finish.
  • Lifting up to 50# with no restrictions
  • Healthy wrist-arm motion – will be using hand tools
  • Ability to work with acetones, thinners, epoxies, solders and sealants and other manufacturing materials without allergic reactions
  • Good hand/eye coordination
  • Must be observant and meticulous.
  • Ability to read process sheets and follow directions
  • Approved by an MD for general respirator use; respirator must be worn during spraying.
  • Prolong periods of standing and painting.

Responsibilities

  • Surface Preparation: cleaning, sanding, and masking the aircraft parts surface to ensure proper adhesion of paint.
  • Painting: applying primer, paint, and other coatings using spray guns.
  • Quality Control: inspecting the painted surface for defects, ensuring proper adhesion, and meeting safety and quality standards.
  • Mixing paints.
  • Ensures proper cleaning and maintenance of spray guns and other painting equipment.
