In this role, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of aviation infrastructure projects that enhance connectivity and support the growth of the communities we serve. Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
Minimum of 3 years of Civil Engineering or Aviation related field
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee and Alabama, or an ability to obtain within 6 months of start date, is required
Proficient in using MicroStation, Open Roads Design and/or AutoCad, Civil3D
Working knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices and techniques, and prepared to assume responsible charge for project designs
Skill using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel

Responsibilities

Engineering design for airport projects to include runway, taxiway, access road, drainage improvement and pavement rehabilitation projects
Design and construction oversight for commercial and general aviation clients
Collaborating with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to resolve a variety of complex problems
Coordination with clients and funding agencies
Potential for supervisory responsibilities of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project
Prepares and reviews technical reports, drawings, plans, specifications, and permits for projects
Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
Prepares cost estimates for assigned projects
Oversees construction projects, conducts project site visits, reviews contractor’s submittals, pay applications, etc.
Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills; works independently on multiple tasks without immediate supervision
Builds and maintains excellent interpersonal relationships
