About The Position

The AVP of Deposit Services (ADS) assists with more complex customers and prospective customers by determining needs when opening accounts as well as with the ongoing needs of the customer once the account is established. The ADS will work to expand existing relationships beyond one or two deposit products by analyzing a customer’s portfolio and determining additions of value-added products and services. The ADS meets the needs of complex customers by providing quality service and present the bank in a professional manner. The ADS will also support SVP of Deposit Services with day-to-day management of the department. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Five years of Deposit/Operations experience.
  • Three years of management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and oversee the day-to-day management of the team and the department.
  • Identify value-added products and services to cross-sell to existing customers. Assist to develop and measure the results of a cross-sales program to assist Bank employees have more success with cross-selling. This may include research of new products and subsequent installation and training of such products while participating in cross-selling activities as well.
  • Possess strong knowledge of federal regulations and rules governing deposit accounts so as to remain compliant and assist/educate employes concerning said regulations and rules.
  • Work with department employees to build a manual for all department processes to assist with cross-training and staffing changes.
  • Assist with the planning and management of projects while contributing to deposit product innovation.
  • Assist with the testing of systems due to enhancements, new products or regulation changes.
  • Assist with supporting outside auditors and supervising agency officials. Assist with the preparation or assigning of requested material regarding deposits and the teller department.
  • Opening accounts, counseling with customers to establish which products meet their specific needs. The position requires that the employee have extensive knowledge of Bank deposit products, both commercial and individual, in order to assure they are meeting the needs of the client.
  • Assist customers and prospective customers with inquiries concerning FDIC Insurance Limitations utilizing tools such as EDIE and products such as IntraFi Deposits (CDARS and ICS) to support needed FDIC coverage.
  • Assist customers with IRA investment and redemption requirements; and other product governmental guidelines.
  • Customer support with problems and issues that arise, such as NSF activity, Stop Payments, Balancing Accounts and Debit Card disputes.
  • Be knowledgeable about and assist Customers with Electronic Banking Functions such as Online Banking, Bill Pay, Remote Deposit Capture and Mobile Banking.
  • Initiate the application process for Treasury Services products. This will include but not be limited to: i. Providing and completing necessary applications and forms for new enrollments into Treasury products. ii. Understanding and at times, adjusting transactional limits related to certain Treasury products. iii. Assisting with internal audit requests for Treasury customers.
  • Be knowledgeable about Wire Transfer Policies and Procedures and assist customers with completing proper documentation to initiate the transfer process.
  • Manage NSF activities to minimize risk. a. Perform daily NSF decisions for account portfolio and provide guidance to Personal Bankers in the department b. Manage and ensure collection of accounts that fall into negative balances. c. Minimize account charge-offs
  • Follow all Bank policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain Notary Public Commission (at bank expense) and assist customers as needed, honoring the laws that they are bound to by oath and affirmation.
  • Accept deposits being made to open accounts, determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements and complete hold notices when necessary.
  • Answer basic customer inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements.
  • Assist customers with access to safe deposit boxes.
  • Assist department/bank management and internal auditor with internal and external audit requests.
  • Be diligent about researching and troubleshooting issues or situations. Submit tickets to the FIS portal to research and receive guidance on corrective measures.
  • Assist Personal Bankers with processes, decision making and strategies related to new/existing accounts.
  • Assist Bank employees with questions regarding deposit accounts and provide support to enable them to best serve the customer.
  • Statement Research.
  • Participate in ongoing education opportunities to maintain competencies and learn about industry trends and developments.
  • Support and represent the Bank in outside activities and support groups, supporting Security Bank’s community initiative(s).
