As a senior technology asset management authority, this role offers the opportunity to shape enterprise-wide governance, optimize technology investments, and influence strategic decisions that drive measurable impact across the organization. Job Overview: The AVP, Technology – IT Asset Management serves as the enterprise authority for asset governance, lifecycle optimization, software licensing strategy, compliance oversight, and technology risk reduction. Operating as a senior individual contributor, this role partners with Technology, Cybersecurity, Finance, Vendor Management, and Architecture to support decisions that maximize technology value, minimize operational and financial risk, and strengthen audit and regulatory readiness.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience leading enterprise IT Asset Management, Software Asset Management, or Hardware Asset Management functions.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience interpreting and managing software licensing constructs (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, VMware).
  • Experience supporting ITAM workstreams within at least one merger or acquisition, including due diligence and integration activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis related to technology assets, including cost modeling and optimization assessments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ServiceNow SAMPro/HAMPro.
  • IAITAM certifications such as CITAM, CHAMP, CSAM, or CAMSE.
  • Project management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile.
  • Experience leading data governance, CMDB alignment, or automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior SME and authoritative advisor for enterprise IT Asset Management across software, hardware, and supplier domains.
  • Establish and influence ITAM governance structures aligned with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity standards, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Define lifecycle frameworks, audit controls, asset data standards, and policies that ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Lead roadmap development to advance the maturity of the ITAM program.
  • Oversee high‑value licensing portfolios and provide financial impact analysis, risk assessments, and optimization recommendations.
  • Lead enterprise lifecycle strategies using asset data insights and risk modeling.
  • Conduct complex license reconciliations, enterprise audits, and regulatory readiness assessments.
  • Lead ITAM due diligence, asset discovery, entitlement validation, and integration planning for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Evaluate inherited environments for compliance exposure, licensing gaps, lifecycle constraints, and cybersecurity risks.
  • Lead cross‑functional initiatives related to asset optimization, cost management, vendor governance, and technology lifecycle transformation.
  • Provide advanced analytics, executive-level reporting, and ITAM tooling strategy recommendations including automation and integrations.
