About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Data Warehouse Admin to join our team in San Jose, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our cloud-based data warehouse infrastructure to support our organization's data analytics and business intelligence needs. Develop and optimize data models and database schemas. Build and enhance ETL/ELT pipelines for efficient data processing. Ensure reliable and efficient data storage and retrieval. Monitor and tune database and data warehouse performance. Implement query optimization and resource utilization best practices. Troubleshoot data warehouse issues to minimize downtime. Implement data security, encryption, and auditing controls. Configure and enforce IAM roles, RBAC, and fine-grained access controls. Manage Amazon Redshift clusters (provisioning, monitoring, scaling, tuning). Optimize Redshift queries, WLM settings, and distribution/sort keys. Perform Redshift maintenance (vacuum, analyze, archiving). Manage user accounts and security for Redshift, RDS, and Aurora. Create and maintain native connections between Redshift, RDS, and Aurora. Handle patching, upgrades, and release cycles for Redshift and Databricks. Implement and monitor alerting, logging, and system health checks. Conduct cost optimization for Redshift through workload monitoring and resizing. Analyze tables, views, and queries to provide best-practice recommendations. Automate routine operational tasks using scripts and tooling. Collaborate with stakeholders, support teams, and mentor junior members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, or related field, or 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • 7–9 years of experience as a Database Administrator or Data Warehouse Administrator.
  • 3+ years of hands-on AWS Redshift experience (cloud-based data warehousing).
  • Extensive knowledge of AWS services including IAM roles/policies, VPC, subnets, encryption, and general cloud security.
  • Strong experience in data warehouse platforms such as Redshift and Databricks.
  • Proficient in SQL with strong experience in database management systems (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.).
  • 2+ years of performance tuning and query optimization in SQL databases or MPP systems.
  • Familiarity with MPP database performance tuning concepts and approaches.
  • Expertise in ETL processes and ETL tools (e.g., AWS Glue).
  • Experience in data modeling (logical/physical), normalization, denormalization, and schema design.
  • Experience supporting cloud data warehouse environments and optimizing workloads.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python , Linux shell scripting
  • Experience in requirements analysis, design, and development for data management applications.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies and integration with cloud data warehouses.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, business, and operations teams to implement solutions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • High-tech or manufacturing industry experience preferred (not required).
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database Specialty) are a plus.
