Job Description: Position: AWS Cloud Engineer Location: Washington, DC 20004 (5 days on site per week)

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in AWS Cloud and related technologies.
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • Strong skills in storage administration and management.
  • Expertise in file sharing and NTFS permissions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server concepts.
  • Strong understanding of Windows File Server concepts.
  • Good knowledge of AWS and other cloud platforms.
  • Experience with backup and restore processes.
  • Experience in file server migrations to Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of database services and management on AWS.
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, VPCs, RDS databases, and other AWS services.
  • Mentor team members to build competencies in architecting, designing, implementing, and supporting cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Implement and manage monitoring solutions to ensure availability and performance of cloud services.
  • Configure alerts and respond to incidents promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline repetitive tasks, improve efficiency, and ensure consistency across the environment.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular security audits and implement necessary controls to protect sensitive data.
