About The Position
The State of Mississippi Department of Finance & Administration (DFA) is seeking an experienced Azure Solutions Architect & Administrator to lead enterprise cloud initiatives. This is a hands-on and strategic role responsible for designing, migrating, and managing Azure cloud environments, including large-scale migrations from on-premises and mainframe (zLinux) systems to Azure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 5+ years of Azure Solutions Architect experience
- 5+ years of Azure environment build and cloud migration
- 5+ years of DevOps engineering experience
- Strong experience with Azure security, governance, and compliance
- Network administration experience
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Experience supporting Windows Server environments
Nice To Haves
- Mainframe and zLinux migration experience
- Linux administration (Red Hat, Ubuntu, SUSE)
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- Exposure to AI/ML solutions
- Application monitoring and performance tools
Responsibilities
- Design and implement Azure IaaS and PaaS architectures
- Lead on-premises and mainframe (zLinux) migrations to Azure
- Develop cloud strategy, standards, and governance
- Implement DevOps automation for provisioning and configuration
- Manage hybrid cloud and infrastructure environments
- Ensure security, compliance, and best practices in Azure
- Support Windows Server and Linux environments
- Create documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams
