About The Position

The Music Mission team owns Spotify’s end to end proposition for music creators and the experiences they create for fans. The team is dedicated to building tools and services to enable creation, promotion, expression, and monetization at scale. You’ll join the PACT Squad, a team focused on policy, accountability, and trust within Spotify’s Music Mission. We build products that help creators securely launch their music, protect their presence on the platform, and better understand emerging challenges like AI-generated content. Working at the intersection of creators, industry partners, and technology, we aim to build a safer and more transparent ecosystem for music.

Requirements

  • You have experience building and maintaining backend services in a production environment
  • You are comfortable working with Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot
  • You understand how to design systems that are scalable, reliable, and easy to maintain
  • You care about writing clean, testable code and follow practices like continuous integration and automated testing
  • You have experience working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform
  • You are familiar with containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
  • You are comfortable working with monitoring and observability tools
  • You stay current with evolving technologies, including AI-assisted development tools, and use them thoughtfully in your workflow
  • You enjoy working collaboratively in a team and contributing to an inclusive and supportive environment

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship backend services that power creator-facing and industry-facing products
  • Collaborate with product, design, insights, and engineering partners to understand user needs and turn them into scalable solutions
  • Design, develop, and operate backend systems with a focus on reliability, performance, and scalability
  • Contribute to infrastructure, tooling, and deployment pipelines that support efficient development and delivery
  • Take ownership of services, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and participating in on-call rotations
  • Work closely with a cross-functional team to continuously improve how we build and deliver products
  • Experiment and iterate using data and A/B testing to improve user experiences
  • Use modern development tools, including AI-assisted coding tools, to enhance productivity and code quality
