As a Backend Engineer at Wordly, you will build and improve backend services across our technology stack, helping deliver new features and maintain existing systems that support Wordly’s real-time translation experiences. This is an individual contributor role focused on hands-on implementation. You will work from product requirements and established technical direction to build and maintain backend services and APIs, improve existing systems, and support reliable backend functionality across the platform. We are looking for someone who can work independently from clear requirements and contribute effectively within a fully remote team. Strong experience with either Java or Kotlin is required, along with experience using backend frameworks such as Micronaut, Spring Boot, or similar. You should also be comfortable writing and maintaining unit and integration tests, working with distributed backend systems, and using AI-assisted development tools effectively and responsibly as part of day-to-day engineering work.
