About The Position

BASIC FUNCTION Sets up and operates dynamic balancing machine to locate points of imbalance various models of fans. Completes fixed and variable speed balancing ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED · Positions fan in test stand and wires motor to proper voltage and frequency · Adjusts stroboscope light to specified intensity and focus. · Attaches sensors to obtain vibration in appropriate plane of imbalance · Adjusts speed of fan as necessary and takes measurements. · Moves controls of machine and observes dials, meters, or trace patterns on screen to determine points of imbalance on fan. · Makes adjustments to appropriate areas to bring fan into proper balance specification and documents accordingly. · Must make judgement as to proper adjustments to make to fan, motor, drive kit, belts, fan skid and isolators to bring fan into proper balance specification and documents accordingly. · Utilizes air gun, hand tools, chop saw, and other powered tools to adjust and build fan assemblies. · Assembles fans per Assembly Manual. · Responsible for reporting work related injuries and near misses to supervision. · Responsible for wearing all required PPE and following applicable safety/environmental rules. · Responsible for correcting or reporting unsafe conditions observed within the plant. Requirements

  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • LANGUAGE ABILITY Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to speak effectively before groups of engineers, coworkers, and other plant support staff.
  • MATH ABILITY Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • COMPUTER SKILLS Working knowledge of Digital Balance Machine required. Must be able to obtain within three (3) months.
  • CERTIFICATES & LICENSES Forklift license required. Must be able to obtain within three (3) months.
