Day to day as a Ball Field Laborer As a full-time (seasonal) Ball Field Laborer at American Fork City, your responsibilities will encompass a variety of essential tasks to ensure that both baseball and softball fields are in prime condition. You'll drag and groom infields, carefully raking and repairing high-wear areas like the plate, batter's boxes, and sliding zones. The role also involves assisting with field setup and teardown, managing bases and equipment while performing pre/post-game cleanup. You will expertly line and mark the fields with chalk or paint and help with quick field turnarounds during tournaments, resetting, dragging, lining, and repairing as needed. Operating tools and light equipment such as rakes, blowers, drags, and utility carts will be part of your training. Additionally, you'll maintain clean dugouts, spectator edges, and surrounding park areas, all while following safety procedures and working professionally around the public. What we're looking for in a Ball Field Laborer To thrive as a Full-Time Ball Field Laborer with American Fork City, candidates must possess a range of essential skills and qualifications. Applicants must be at least 17 years old and demonstrate their ability to commit to five 8-hour shifts, including availability for mandatory weekend tournaments. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance are crucial for maintaining the flow of operations. Physical fitness is necessary, as the role requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs while performing demanding outdoor work. Strong communication skills in English are vital, enabling you to follow directions effectively. Previous experience in sports fields, parks, landscaping, or outdoor labor is preferred, providing the practical knowledge needed to excel in maintaining baseball and softball fields. Your dedication and attention to detail will ensure a professional and enjoyable environment for players and spectators alike.

Requirements

  • Must be 17 years or older
  • Must be able to work five (8) hour shifts
  • Must be available for some mandatory weekend tournaments

  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs and perform physical outdoor work
  • Must be able to communicate in English and follow directions
