Ventanas is our extraordinary all-encompassing event venue is conveniently perched atop the fourteenth and fifteenth stories of the Park Pavilion building, which includes a 2,500 square foot outdoor patio, overlooking downtown Atlanta’s Centennial Park District. This outlet features dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows revealing a breathtaking view of Downtown and Midtown Atlanta. Our banquet culinary team is responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. Requirements

  • Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Must maintain a clean work station in our open kitchen from ceiling to floor
  • Ability to work long hours on feet during peek periods
  • Must have flexible availability
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Customer and Personal Service Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Food Production Knowledge of techniques and equipment for planting, growing, and harvesting food products (both plant and animal) for consumption, including storage/handling techniques.
  • Production and Processing Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Near Vision The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Oral Comprehension The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Problem Sensitivity The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing that there is a problem.
  • Speech Clarity The ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.
  • Speech Recognition The ability to identify and understand the speech of another person.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and sanitizing workstations.
  • Following prep lists created by chefs.
  • Measuring ingredients and seasonings, and preparing cooking ingredients such as soup stock to be used in the cooking process.
  • Ensuring all food items are properly stored and easily accessible.
  • Assisting chefs in preparing food and attending to any culinary tasks that arise.
  • Supervising food and cooling room temperatures.
  • Accepting or rejecting ingredients from suppliers.
  • Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen.
  • Prep all ingredients for our scratch kitchen
  • Equipped with proper uniform and hygiene standards
  • Able to manage multiple simultaneous processes
  • Prepare both cold and hot foods for service
  • Coordinate timing of food production activities
  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safety and efficiently
  • Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
  • Restock items as needed throughout the shift
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
