About The Position

The Holston Hills Country Club is seeking a Banquet Manager to join our team. This position will be in charge of the banquet service function at the club and will supervise banquet service personnel to assure member and guest satisfaction through proper food and beverage service and presentation. This is a full-time position and offers benefits, including medical, life, and dental insurance, paid time off (PTO), 401(k), and a complimentary staff meal each day worked.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the Food and Beverage Manager, Chef, Restaurant Manager and others to schedule and coordinate personnel requirements.
  • Develops detailed plans for each catered event in conjunction with the club’s function committee (Food and Beverage Director, Executive Chef, Banquet Sous Chef, Director of Catering, and Maintenance Director).
  • Serves as liaison between banquet service personnel and other staff members on the clubs function committee.
  • Diagrams buffet tables, guest tables and other functions room set-up needs for special events.
  • Holds pre-shift meetings with servers and bartenders to ensure smooth, efficient service; assigns servers and bartenders stations and coordinates the timing of courses.
  • Ensures that all banquet staff is well-groomed and in proper uniform and name tags.
  • Assists with on-going sales efforts for group and local banquet business.
  • Assists in the preparation of the marketing plan and annual budget to increase profitability of the banquet operation; monitors performance against budgets; recommends advertising.
  • Assures proper inventory of all banquet server equipment and supplies to meet required needs
  • Acts as Head Waiter at special, private functions and may greet and seat guests as necessary
  • Handles complaints/comments.
  • Hires, trains and supervises banquet service staff.
  • Regularly inspects all front- and back-of-the-house service areas and equipment to assure that sanitation, safety, energy management, preventive maintenance and other standards for the department are met
  • Assists with employee annual reviews and performance appraisals.
