About The Position

Banquet Servers are responsible for positive Guest interactions while serving Guests in a friendly and efficient manner and play an integral role in ensuring our customers have exceptional dining experiences. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our Guests’ needs, making them feel welcome and comfortable.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Communicate effectively with others
  • Previous serving experience required
  • Excellent oral communication skills required
  • Positive interpersonal skills required
  • Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English
  • Food Handlers Certification and TABC Certificate
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well with a team and demonstrate attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Hotel Operations or Customer Service preferred

Responsibilities

  • Contribute positively to the team within the department
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Ensure all side-work to include filling and stocking salt/pepper shakers is completed.
  • Set up for events by putting out tablecloths and place settings, arranging table placement and setting up a buffet
  • Carrying plates of food on trays and serving guests
  • Keep glasses filled; remove each round of plates and replenish utensils
  • Perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service
  • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs
  • Prepare for any/all guest with request
  • Inform of any special request or special instructions to staff
  • Assist with special events as needed
  • Participate in on-going training.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Comply with Valencia Hotel Group standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by management or supervisors.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas
  • Display courteous behavior with guests and team members
  • Report any unsafe conditions immediately
  • Ensure hotel equipment is in proper working condition
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor
