About The Position

A Banquet Server plays a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by providing professional and efficient food and beverage service during events. Their primary function is to ensure that all guests feel welcomed and attended to, following event specifications and service standards. From the setup of banquet spaces to the seamless execution of meal service, they maintain an acute focus on detail and hospitality. Servers work collaboratively with kitchen and event staff to ensure the timely delivery of courses, adapt to guest needs in real-time, and uphold the ambiance and quality of the event. Beyond serving, Servers contribute to the overall success of events by maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the service. They are responsible for resetting spaces for subsequent events and ensuring that all equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately. Whether it's a formal gala, corporate event, or wedding reception, Banquet Servers are integral in creating a positive impression of the venue and event host, embodying professionalism, efficiency, and a guest-focused attitude.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months working in a fast-paced, high volume food service environment preferred.
  • Must have a High School Diploma, G.E.D. or related Food Service Job Experience.
  • Must acquire and maintain a Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, and other required compliance trainings.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff and guest in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and select holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of the menu and any special items being offered.
  • Ensures that food items are served at proper temperature and immediately upon availability from the kitchen, as ordered by the customer.
  • Ensures neat presentation of all ordered items, with no spill-over.
  • Pre-buses tables and full buses tables when necessary during peak periods.
  • Maintains availability to work during many peak periods.
  • Stocks beverage station(s) when necessary (ice, juices, glassware, sugar packets, etc).
  • Reads and understands Banquet Event Orders.
  • Provides fine dining level food and beverage service to guests for all events consistent with standards of service.
  • Initiates and maintains friendly and professional contact with guests ensuring that all needs are anticipated and met.
  • Setup and maintain both food and beverage stations in various locations throughout the building consistent with standards of service.
  • Monitor inventory levels for both food and beverage stations.
  • Maintain all event areas and front of house staging areas in a tidy and organized manner.
  • Participate in both setup and cleanup of food and beverage service items.
  • Works independently during slower times.
  • Perform safe work by helping to provide a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ensures that work is accurate and complete.
  • Maintains a customer-focused, positive and professional attitude.
