About The Position

The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel has over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views. JOB PURPOSE: Responsible to clean all kitchens and food and beverage equipment, in accordance with hotel standards. The Steward comprehends the food and beverage operation and prioritizes cleanliness of all food preparation and service areas.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate with Supervisor and Department Manager.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment.

  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Team oriented with a positive, professional attitude.
  • Ability to operate dish washing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of dishwasher presentation; how to set up, how to clean, chemicals and temperature setting of dishwashers.
  • Clean pots, pans and all other cookware utensils. All cookware and utensils will be completely cleaned and sanitized.
  • Keep the kitchen floor clean and wash area free of food residue or any other debris.
  • Knowledge of floor maintenance, equipment used and good knowledge of chemical safety & usage.
  • Wash and sanitize all dishes and silverware after each meal service.
  • Polish silverware, chafing dishes, china and other service equipment as required.
  • and silverware for high-end presentations. Organize clean dishes and utensils in designated area.
  • Knowledge of dumpster procedures and cardboard.
  • Waste removal and safe lifting practices associated with waste removal.
  • Scrub stovetops, ovens and grills to remove food residue.
  • Clean range hoods and ventilation filters to prevent grease accumulation.
  • Sweep, mop coolers and Freezer
  • Wipe down shelves to prevent spills and odors in coolers and freezers.
  • Sweep and mop floors to remove food debris and spills.
  • Sanitize rubber mats to prevent bacterial growth
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Wash and sanitize all kitchen related items using a three-compartment sink.
  • assist chefs, cooks, and banquet staff by providing clean and organized tools and equipment.
  • Support banquet and restaurant operations by transporting, setting up, and breaking down service equipment.
  • Empty trash bins regularly and transport garbage and recyclables to designated disposal areas.
  • Stock and replenish plates on cooking stations.
