About The Position

POSITION PURPOSE: Support the bartender’s needs in all areas, including but not limited to prep work (cutting and storing fruit, preparing garnishes, portioning batch cocktails, portioning juices, all while operating with FIFO system), maintaining cleanliness to the bar area and BOH staging areas (wiping down the bar, using sanitizer solution, replacing dish machine cleaning solution, washing and polishing all glassware, following weekly cleaning schedule to maintain bar displays to be dust-free and most appealing to the eye.  Support the bar staff in providing exceptional service to our guests. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Set up bars with all essential products, glassware, garnishes, as well as rotating all products that may be needed by date and following FIFO. Maintain the bars to standard and ensure that guest have the best experience possible. Perform all side work required such as cleaning, stocking, and requisitioning supplies. Break down bars, making a bottle count, and putting a requisition form together or the following day. Making sure the bar is set up and ready for the next bar shift.  Thoroughly clean the bar top, back bar and all supplies/bottles to avoid stickiness and keep the bar area smelling fresh. Follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve all standards of operation. Ensure prompt and courteous service to guests to ensure guest satisfaction. Promptly follow-up on all guest requests and/or complaints.  Please know to involve a manager on duty if you are unable to solve the situation in which you are presented with, communicate all situations clearly. OTHER: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Trump National Doral from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.   Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the industry that we are in, a need will occur for each associate to provide “Lateral Service”. Our goal is to ensure that we are maximizing customer satisfaction and as a result there will be times when our associates in the Operation will call upon us for support in order to ensure customer satisfaction occurs. When we are fortunate enough for this to occur, each associate will positively respond unless there is a chance that an opportunity resulting in dissatisfying a guest could occur. If this is the case the leader is to be notified and the level of support that is being requested will be obtained. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company. SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to read the English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders and similar written materials. Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items. Willingness and ability to taste food & beverage items relevant to the menu. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the guest and providing positive and proactive solutions.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of bar operations, to include appropriate staffing levels, service equipment and guest relations.
  • Ability to read the English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders and similar written materials.
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
  • Willingness and ability to taste food & beverage items relevant to the menu.
  • Ability to effectively deal with guest complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the guest and providing positive and proactive solutions.
  • High School graduate required.
  • At least 1- 2 years relevant experience in food & beverage service industry.
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
  • TIPS certification.
  • CPR Certification is beneficial.
  • All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
