About The Position

Looking to make an impact on San Francisco nightlife? Apply for the Bar Manager position at Bottle Club Pub. The Bottle Club is an Americana themed cocktail bar with rotating back bar that serves small plates. The Bar Manager will be required to ensure operations behind the bar are taken care of in the absence of the General Manager, this includes opening and closing duties, basic conflict resolution, and otherwise handling daily operations behind the bar. Additionally, the bar manager is responsible for ordering and receiving inventory at the direction of and under the supervision of the General Manager. This position does not include scheduling, pre-planned conflict mediation and formal employee discipline, or any other responsibility that otherwise reports to senior management (HR, Operations, Beverage Management, Marketing). You should be able to work independently, effectively communicate managerial objectives, and fairly supervise a team. The Bar Manager will report directly to the General Manager and requires regular bartending shifts.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in busy hotel, restaurant or nightclub
  • Knowledge of various drink building techniques and styles
  • Capacity to lead
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong interpersonal, motivational, and managerial skills
  • Ability to think independently
  • Ability to be fair and dispassionate
  • Proficiency with IT
  • Strong time-management skills

Responsibilities

  • Oversee bar team when the GM is not present
  • Oversee daily operations within the bar when the GM is not present
  • Complete weekly vendor orders for review by the GM
  • Receive weekly inventory into Bevager under the supervision of the GM
  • Complete monthly inventory count either with the GM or with a supervisor
  • Assist the GM with minor daily bar-side operations
  • Assists manager with administrative work, such as inventory and training
  • Reports to the manager on daily operations
  • Ensures quality control standards are met among staff members
  • Ensure opening duties are completed
  • Ensure closing duties are completed
  • Customer service – direct issues to the GM or senior management as needed
  • Maintaining performance standards as set by management
  • Handle and process refunds
  • Assist the GM with inventory counts
  • Ensure that employees observe company protocols
