About The Position

Under the direction of the designated venue management, the Bartender I prepares cocktail server orders for guest consumption utilizing only approved recipes and ingredients as set by the Director of Food & Beverage; maintains all liquor, bar equipment, and bars to set health codes and casino standards; maintains positive, team oriented and accommodating attitude toward guests (internal as well as external), fellow team members, and management, at all times.

Requirements

  • County of San Diego Food Handler Card
  • 21 years of age
  • CA ABC Responsible Beverage Service Certification
  • 6 months bartending experience
  • Ability to read order tickets.
  • Working knowledge of responsible alcohol beverage service
  • Working knowledge of liquor license guidelines
  • Ability to mix a wide variety of alcoholic beverages
  • Ability to prepare beverage mixtures from recipes
  • Ability to appear for work on time
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse guest and team member base
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for up to eight hours at a time
  • Ability to bend, stoop, push and pull
  • Ability to work in a smoking environment
  • Ability to appear for work on time

Nice To Haves

  • Cash Handling experience

  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations

  • Working knowledge of point of sale system

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and preps designated workstation.
  • Provides servers with bar service and guests as needed.
  • Ensures responsible beverage service policies and laws are followed.
  • Ensures recipes are consistent in flavor profiles, quality, and appearance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
  • Enters food and drink orders into the point-of-sale system, as needed.
