About The Position

The Bartender at the Resort Pool is responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for guests and cocktail servers while also taking orders and serving snacks and drinks. Additionally, assesses bar customers' needs and preferences and makes recommendations.

Requirements

Current, legal and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
Must be minimum 21 years of age
High school or equivalent education required
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English
Food Service Handler Card and TABC certification that is currently valid for a minimum of at least 6 months
Knowledge of and ability to mix a wide variety of drinks
The skills and abilities necessary for effective performance within this position are typically acquired through five (5) years bartending or similar experience or through progressive promotion and training within the Beverage department
Great team-player with the ability creates excellent working relationships across the group Collaborative approach with all departments
Ability to break down barriers and resolve potential conflicts swiftly and effortlessly
Strong communication and presentation skills to all levels of management
Creativity and innovation are essential!
Ability to think outside the box and approach all issues with a completely fresh approach
Ability to anticipate needs and over deliver wherever possible
Candidates must think on their feet and use their initiative to solve problems and deliver solutions

Nice To Haves

Preferred: 1-2 years' experience in a full-service restaurant or lounge
Familiarity with superior customer service skills required
Must have the ability to lead and supervise

Responsibilities

Prepare cocktails for cocktail servers and guests of the Virgin Hotel using prescribed recipes
Maintain company funds and equipment in an orderly manner
Interact with guests in a manner, which makes them feel comfortable and welcome
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Assist in the delegation of duties to barbacks
Monitor proper par levels of all supplies at assigned bars
Communicate any problems or situations detrimental to property to immediate supervisor
Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned bank and is accountable for all overages and shortages
Must be physically present at work, in assigned workstation, to perform all functions required of the position
Always communicate effectively, with customers as well as all levels of employees
Observe and direct actions of barbacks and to inspect and maintain areas for which responsible
Distinguish between different denominations of currency and make change
Review and comprehend all necessary documentation
Use the equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to the cash register and all bar equipment
Retrieve supplies and maintain a clean working area
Other duties as assigned
