As a Battery Thermal 3D CFD Virtual Propulsion Engineer (VPE), you will perform cell, module and pack level Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis to optimize thermal performance of GM’s Battery Systems under normal and abuse conditions (TRP). The candidate will conceptualize and develop a wide variety of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models to directly impact design and offset hardware testing. This role requires close collaboration with other CAE teams, while providing results and technical consultation to hardware design, development and validation engineers. Development of new and refinement of existing simulation procedures in the above domains is also a core responsibility. Job Description Hybrid work position: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite every other week. As a Battery Thermal 3D CFD Analysis Engineer, you will perform cell, module and pack level Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis to optimize thermal performance of GM’s Battery Systems under normal and abuse conditions including TRP. The candidate will conceptualize and develop a wide variety of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models to directly impact design and offset hardware testing.
