About The Position

The Bed Placement & Transfer Center Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, prioritizing and optimizing all inpatient bed assignments within the Medical Center. This position facilitates patient transfers from other facilities to Saint Francis Medical Center. Will work with other areas within the Medical Center to assure proper staffing is maintained based on current and known future census. Will work with nursing staff to assist in identifying potential delays on patients expected to be discharged. Will provide quality reporting to leadership. They evaluate processes, tracks, documents and coordinates patient transfers for the successful referral and transfer of patients to the facility.

Requirements

  • College Diploma, Nursing-required
  • Currently licensed to practice in the State of Missouri.
  • AA degree-required
  • BLS Certification
  • Minimum of five (5) years working as a registered nurse in a hospital setting.
  • Minimal of two (2) years computer experience including all Microsoft Office suite programs and report writing skills including Microsoft Access.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to organize and perform detailed work.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform a variety of duties under stress.
  • Demonstrates evidence of good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates evidence of good telephone etiquette.
  • Demonstrates evidence of understanding and practice of customer orientation.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and multitask.

  • BSN-preferred.
