Before and After School Group Leader
About The Position

For those who have experience working with students, the Group Leader role offers the opportunity to shape meaningful before and after school moments that help kids learn, grow, and thrive. We're looking for an early learning professional who: Enjoys working with children in a structured, high-energy environment Takes child safety seriously and follows procedures closely Is flexible, reliable, and ready to jump in wherever needed In this role, you will: Lead a group of students through daily curriculum activities (World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts) Make child safety the top priority at all times Keep the space clean and organized Help create an environment where kids feel supported and included Build strong relationships with teammates, kids, families, and school staff This role is ideal for educators with experience in: Teaching or classroom leadership Youth programs Staff supervision or team leadership As an AlphaBEST Guide, you'll be trained to do the following: Lead a group of student explorers through exciting adventures in fitness, the arts, technology, and more! Work collaboratively with peers to ignite children's sense of wonder. Encourage creativity and intellectual curiosity by building on students' interests and talents. Provide a caring, family-oriented environment where positive staff, child, and parent relationships are fostered.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- CPR and First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting (up to 25 pounds)
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be at least 19 years old
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs
- Must be registered and have full clearance from the state childcare licensing agency
- Proof of experience as required by state childcare licensing regulations (see below)
- Proof of experience through ONE of the following options is required: Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA in a related field) or Associate's Degree (AS/AA in a related field) A 1-year state or nationally recognized credential (related to school-age care) Completion of 20 credits (semester system) or 30 credits (quarter system) of training at a college/university AND at least 1 year of qualifying teaching experience in a Certified Child Care Center (or comparable group care program) 2 or more years of qualifying teaching experience (with at least one year as a teacher) in a Certified Child Care Center (or comparable group care program)
