About The Position

The Clinician II will work to address the unique needs of individuals with developmental disabilities in our supported living programs. Individuals receiving services, which are provided in the home and community, are adults with often times multiple diagnoses and present with significant challenging behaviors. Many supported individuals have transitioned out of more restrictive settings, such as residential habilitation centers, state hospitals, correctional facilities, and diversion programs. They require increased clinical support in order to thrive in a community setting.

Requirements

  • Must have a master's degree in psychology, behavior analysis, mental health, special education, social work, or other related discipline. Will also consider candidates in the last semester of obtaining master's degree.
  • 2+ years of experience with individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities (IDD)
  • Relevant experience in designing and implementing support plans for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, mental health, and/or challenging behaviors

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage caseload of individuals for treatment implementation
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and develop Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs)
  • Provide clinical guidance to Direct Support Professionals and Program Supervisors
  • Conduct program visits to interact with staff and supported individuals
  • Foster positive rapport with individuals, parents, and guardians
  • Review data to ensure care meets individual's current needs
  • Complete progress reports and update plans as necessary
  • Assist in providing crisis intervention and outreach as needed and appropriate.
  • Consult and assist with assessment and implementation of supports needed such as reinforcement systems, coping skills, adaptive equipment, etc.
  • Provide guidance and assistance with admission and discharge decisions on high needs cases.
  • Participate in the debriefing of significant incidents of individuals on caseload when requested
  • Attend person-centered planning meetings, referral/intake meetings, and home staffing meetings
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with external service providers including DDA, Consultants, Hospitals, external providers, etc.
