Our Behavioral Support Department located in Slingerlands, NY has a full-time, 40-hour Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) position available. The schedule for this position is Monday—Friday, hours vary depending on the needs of the program. This is a salaried, exempt position with pay rate of $62,553.20 per year. The Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) will develop and implement behavior support plans (BSP) with a person-centered, strength-based approach in accordance with NYS OPWDD regulatory requirements and the agency’s mission. The BIS will train staff regarding behavior support plans and monitor the effectiveness of the BSP through data analysis and observation. Some remote work is possible but BISs are expected to attend meetings and visit WWAARC programs on their caseload. Want to be a WWAARC Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) and join our Team? · At least 18 years of age · Have a valid driver’s license · A Master’s Degree in behavior analysis (BCBA) or a field closely related to clinical or community psychology that is approved by OPWDD; OR a Master’s Degree in a clinical or treatment field of psychology, social work, school psychology applied psychology as it relates to human development and clinical intervention or a related human services field; OR a NYS license in Mental Health Counseling, have at least 5 years’ experience working directly with people supported with I/DD and/or supervise and train others on behavior support plans AND have obtained OPWDD approved specialized training or experience in functional assessment techniques and behavior support plan development; OR have a Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field AND have provided behavioral services for an agency in the OPWDD system as of and continuously since December 31, 2012 and are working towards a Master’s Degree in an applied area of psychology, social work, or special education.
