Our Behavior Day Services: The Options Program is our site-based day program; we support adults with developmental disabilities who are on behavior support plans, focusing on positive behavior supports, social inclusion, pre-vocational/life skills, and a range of interests. This program also includes community access for people who have developed the skills needed to explore the community safely.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Documented completion of 40-hour RBT training that meets the BCBA requirements for certification.
  • Crisis Response Management Certification (or obtain within 60-days of hire).
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or obtain within 60-days of hire).
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proof of Criminal Background Clearance.
  • Proof of a passing physical exam and TB clearance.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build trust and connection with participants, families, and team members across diverse backgrounds.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication, tailored to a variety of audiences and needs.
  • Organized and attentive to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and follow-through.
  • Tech-comfortable, with confidence using Microsoft Office Suite and electronic verification systems.
  • Committed to confidentiality, discretion, and ethical, person-centered practices.
  • Team-oriented and mission-driven, with a strong work ethic and a natural inclination toward collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Ability to stay calm and solution-focused in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong clinical behavior analytic skills including data collection and intervention implementation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or comparable experience.
  • 1 year's experience providing 1:1 behavior services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in good standing with the BACB, including continuing education requirements.
  • Previous experience working in a day program or with adults with behavioral needs.
  • Familiarity with regional center funded services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to participants through personalized instruction and activities aligned with their unique needs and goals.
  • Provide input on curriculum ideas and support the development of weekly programming in alignment with individualized goals.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of participant goals to ensure effective support strategies, promote growth, and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Provide feedback on existing goals and actively contribute to the development of new goals in collaboration with participants and the Options leadership team.
  • Support participants with aspects of daily living, including meals, restroom assistance, and other basic care needs as outlined in the individualized care plan.
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) with strong treatment integrity, including accurate data collection and documentation in alignment with each plan.
  • Document progress notes, behavior tracking logs, and goal implementation data daily in the electronic visit verification system, ensuring accuracy and real-time updates aligned with individual plans.
  • Utilize communication systems appropriately, ensuring professional and timely communication.
  • Serve as a mentor and provide guidance to other direct support staff with regard to behavior principles and strategies.
  • Assist the BCBA and Program Manager with the training of new DSP III staff to support their understanding of the protocols and expectations for supplemental behavior services.
  • Meet regularly with Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or other clinical supervisor to discuss participant progress, treatment integrity, and clinical skills.
  • Advocate for participants, ensuring their rights, choices, natural supports, inclusion in all program activities, and autonomy in decision-making.
