The focus of this position is to provide clinical behavioral health treatment and educational services (i.e., psychotherapy, crisis services and groups under licensed supervision by a Psychologist) to American Indians, Alaska Natives, and other residents of the surrounding community in Oakland. Secondary duties may also include intakes, assessments, medical department consultation, and support of outreach/ prevention activities and community events. Our team is a diverse and collaborative group that uses empirically supported methods integrated with positive, traditional cultural practices. Learning and professional growth are priorities in our department and especially for this position. We support these efforts via (1) regular and structured individual and group supervision, (2) encouragement of on-the-fly consultation, (3) clinical training opportunities (seminars, clinical trainings and certification, and a vast library of webinars from the Indian Health Service), (4) immersive cultural learning activities in the community, and (5) opportunities to develop clinic administration/supervision or other skills. Our operational processes and onboarding trainings are shaped by continuous quality improvement and Plan-Do-Study-Act cycles.
