Requirements

  • Possess a Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Psychology; AND Have a temporary limited license as a  Psychologist(TLLP) or a limited license (LLP) or (LP) from the State of Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry Services (grandfathered only); OR
  • Possess a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Social Work; AND Have an LLMSW or LMSW from the State of Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry Services; OR
  • Possess a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling; AND Have an limited license as a professional counselor (LLPC ) or an (LPC) from the State of Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry Services; AND
  • Possess a valid motor vehicle operator or chauffeur's license

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, group, conjoint or family psychotherapy and support services to children with severe emotional disturbance and their family.
  • Conducts clinical assessments, develops diagnoses, and participates in developing person/family centered treatment plans with client families.
  • Monitors client progress and coordinates appropriate behavioral health and other needed services.
  • Responsible for meeting all MDCH requirements for Home-based hours (minimum 4 hours per family per month).
  • Maintains an electronic and paper chart which includes required documentation of services provided, progress notes, treatment plans, periodic reviews and client rights documents.
  • Participates in individual supervision and team meetings to review progress, identify barriers and develop strategies for better assisting families in reaching their goals.
