About The Position

Position Summary Brave Space Alliance is searching for a full-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to lead and oversee our behavioral health program. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of experience delivering comprehensive mental health services to LGBTQ+ clients and managing behavioral health teams. The successful candidate will bring expertise in case management, team leadership, and partnership development, ensuring high-quality, affirming care for historically underserved communities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • 5 to 7 years of professional experience in behavioral health.
  • Case management experience.
  • Knowledge of patient rights and mental health laws.
  • Familiarity with continuum of care and assessment/intervention skills.
  • can be flexible with licensure attainment up until 1 year after initial date of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Illinois Mental Health Code and Confidentiality Act.
  • Coordinate daily operations for assigned staff, including scheduling, staffing, problem-solving, and supervision.
  • Serve as initial contact for customer service complaints and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Participate in required in-service training and community seminars as directed by leadership.
  • Assist in leading program retention initiatives and conduct monthly staff meetings.
  • Stay current on trends, methods, and techniques in case management and counseling.
  • Attend and complete agency training; share insights from external training with staff.
  • Participate in committee or staff meetings as applicable.
  • Maintain a professional image as a representative of Brave Space Alliance.
  • Inform supervisor of any conditions impacting client safety and well-being; seek assistance as needed.
  • Attend weekly individual supervision sessions to review progress, productivity, and concerns.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing program needs and schedules.
  • Engage in professional growth and development; maintain knowledge of evidence-based practices.
  • Oversee mental health staff in accordance with established standards.
  • Coordinate timely patient placement within the program.
  • Work on routine program-based projects as assigned by the Director.
