The Behavioral Health Technician assists residents/clients with substance abuse and mental health disorders, working under direction of clinical, nursing and medical staff and direct supervision of the housing manager. Duties and responsibilities include assisting clients with housekeeping tasks, daily living and daily schedules; leading clients in educational and recreational activities; support the delivery of individual client care; accompanying patients to and from examinations and treatments; conducting house meetings as needed and/or directed; conduct inspections and searches as directed; ensure house rules, policies and procedures are followed; complete reports as required and take daily census; establish relationships with residents to assist with their psycho-social development and recovery; maintain organized records, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and be able to interact appropriately and professionally with women who are working on their recovery. Candidates must also be able to effectively handle emergency/crisis situations as they arise. This position is also involved in supporting residents to develop recovery plans and teaching residents skills needed to live in recovery.
