River Edge offers outpatient services at our Emery Highway-Macon, Monroe County and Baldwin County locations. Outpatient services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization and medication maintenance services as well as crisis intervention services as well as awareness, education and recovery groups. Behavioral Health Technician (IDD) at the Oconee Center Company Overview: River Edge Behavioral Health is recognized for its state-of-the-art treatment and support services for more than 13,000 children, youth, families, and adults annually who experience mental illness, addiction, co-occurring disorders, and substance abuse problems. In addition, River Edge offers services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Position Overview: We are currently seeking Behavioral Health Technician - IDD - to join our team in making a difference in the lives of our patients every day. We are in the heart of Middle Georgia State where we enjoy abundant recreational opportunities, and a family friendly environment with good schools and opportunities for the entire family to be involved. The Behavioral Health Technician - IDD cares for people who have disabilities, chronic illnesses, cognitive impairments, or age-related problems. He or she provides social interaction and companionship for patients in various healthcare settings under the direction of a licensed professional. Location/Schedule – 1241 Orchard Hill Road, Milledgeville, GA. The shifts available are Friday-Monday 4pm-8am or Friday-Monday - 12midnight - 8am or Friday-Monday 12( midnight)-8am and Every Other Weekend.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least six months of work experience as a sitter/companion in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in Behavioral Health
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered
  • Must be self-started and work independently.
  • Must be able to perform assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures.
  • Must have effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with Oconee policies/procedures
  • Comply with client facility nursing policies/procedures
  • Maintains confidentiality relative to patient services and facility practices in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Communicates information effectively to appropriate personnel.
  • Provides companionship services, such as sitting with patient or reading to patient
