Behavioral Health Technician Pyramid Healthcare Location: Newport News, VA Schedule: Full-Time | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Pay: $15.00 per hour Join Our Team Pyramid Healthcare in Newport News is seeking dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technicians to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing direct support to individuals on their recovery journey in a structured, therapeutic environment. Position Summary The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct care and supervision to clients receiving treatment services. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and supportive environment while assisting clients in following their individualized treatment plans.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous behavioral health or human services experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the intake and admission process for new clients
  • Communicate effectively with team members through verbal updates and written documentation
  • Provide direct client support and actively listen to treatment needs
  • Maintain a structured, safe, and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention when necessary
  • Coordinate and facilitate scheduled activities, including educational lectures, recreation, and group meetings
  • Conduct mandatory bed checks and complete detailed shift reports
  • Participate in shift changes, team meetings, and company meetings
  • Ensure clients follow daily schedules and treatment plans
  • Monitor the medication line in accordance with policy
  • Transport clients to meetings, appointments, and recreational activities as needed
