About The Position

Primary Responsibilities:Drive hotel vehicles within state regulations, safely and in a responsible manner. Transport luggage/golf equipment on pick-up and drop-off of passengers. May assume the duties of luggage/valet attendant when not driving. Handle all guest requests and ensure that guests are properly greeted and serviced. Communicate with all departments on complaints of guests and resolve complaints within their direct impact. Maintain a personal and professional safety/driving record free of unsafe moving violations and tickets. Knowledgeable of hotel guest alcohol awareness program and employee alcohol/drug use policies. Understand and assist within their role in emergency procedures. Complete daily reports on number of passengers and guest comments. Inspect vehicle daily; keep vehicle clean and properly serviced and fueled. Essential Duties: Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner according to resort standards. Transport guests within the Resort following the designated route, schedule and standards. Inspect vehicles daily and complete the checklist. Report any problems with the vehicle to the garage. Clean and refuel vehicles. Operate vehicles following safety procedures and adhering to all traffic laws. Assist guests into and out of vehicle. Load and unload bags and other items from the vehicle. Deliver items within the resort including baggage, golf bags, newspapers, etc. Communicate with bell desk via radio for pick-ups. Provide information regarding the resort, facilities, restaurants and the Big Island to guests. Communicate with hotel managers regarding guests’ complaints which directly impact their area. Knowledgeable of hotel guest alcohol awareness program. Report any problems with guests and alcohol use to the hotel manager on duty. Log all movement on transportation log. Perform other related duties as assigned or required. Other Duties: Assist luggage/valet attendants as needed. Working Conditions: Sit in and operate hotel vehicle continuously during shift. Drive outdoors in various weather conditions. Work Hours: Must be able to work shift and days determined by manager Must be able to work in excess of 40 hours per week if needed.
