About The Position

The Bell Person creates the first impression for guests by providing warm, personalized service upon arrival and throughout their stay. This role involves assisting guests with luggage, escorting them to rooms, explaining room features, and offering information about hotel services and local attractions. The Bell Person ensures a welcoming environment in the lobby and entrance areas while anticipating guest needs and delivering exceptional hospitality. This is a seasonal position starting mid May and ending mid September.

Requirements

  • Prior hotel experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High School GED or Equivalent.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Assist with heavier items exceeding 75 pounds when needed.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods or entire shifts.
  • Friendly, courteous, and guestoriented demeanor.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests and team members.
  • Must maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times .
  • Responsible, reliable, and able to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work days, early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Maintain a clean and organized lobby and porte-cochere area.
  • Comply with safety and security policies, including proper lifting techniques and PPE use.
  • Follow company standards for guest interaction and service recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Escort guests to rooms and assist with luggage handling and storage.
  • Inspect guest rooms for readiness and explain room features and amenities.
  • Provide information about hotel services, local attractions, and transportation options.
  • Assist guests entering and exiting vehicles and arrange transportation when needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of lobby and entrance areas.
  • Communicate parking procedures and assist with valet coordination.
  • Engage guests with friendly, proactive service and anticipate their needs.
  • Follow safety protocols, including hazardous material handling and lockout/tag-out procedures.
  • Display professionalism and positive attitude; support team goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
