Working at our Cincinnati Aviation Component Service Center : Our ACSC facility develops and conducts a wide array of engine component repairs – including rotating parts, complex assemblies and nozzles on 29 different engine models. Role Overview: Perform a variety of operations in the repair of aircraft engine components. Handle brazing, alloying powders, and apply various repair alloys. Perform a variety of deburring, benching, and finishing operations with hand tools, small power tools, and basic machine tools such as air guns, EDM machines, air grinders, belt sanders, floor baders, surface grinders, etc. Operate grit blast, shot peen, vapor blast, resistance tack welder, hot form furnace and press equipment, and tumbling equipment. Use standard and special gauges. Maintain necessary records. Instruct and train others as required and perform related duties. Use of acid-etch equipment. Operate cleaning equipment such as ultrasonic tanks, back flushers, waterflow machines and drying ovens. Use of precision marking equipment, including vibropeens and dotpeen markers. Perform cleanup of assigned work area. Perform functions such as part marking. Calculation and measurement of powder mixes for coating of aircraft engine components. Perform basic troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and adjustments to assigned machines and equipment. Ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations. Assist other classifications as directed.

Requirements

  • Must pass an initial OAP inspection test (includes basic math and measuring instruments) and annual recertification
  • Experience with basic use of computers, applications, and keyboarding (e.g., email, Microsoft Excel, etc.)
  • Proficient in the use of shop math as necessary, including fractions, and decimals
  • High school diploma, or GED
  • Experience operating material handling and lifting devices, including ability to obtain forklift license as required
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating EDM machines.
  • Experience with braze and alloying of aircraft engine components.
  • Demonstrate ability to use standard precision measuring instruments.
  • Experience in benching operations of aircraft engine components.
  • Understanding of how to calculate and weigh accurate powder mixes for coating of aircraft engine components.
  • Experience operating various hand and power tools (die grinders, hand baders, etc.) and basic machine tools and equipment.
  • Ability to learn and operate material handling and lifting devices, including ability to obtain forklift license as required.
