About The Position

The Benefits Analyst will serve as the functional and business process expert for Workday Benefits, ensuring ongoing optimization and support of benefit programs including open enrollment, employee benefit elections and plan year management. Uses analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to support, maintain, and optimize the Workday Benefits module. The analyst will provide best practice guidance, resolve system issues, and deliver solutions that support Presbyterian’s health and welfare strategies. This is a functional Benefits Analyst role, not an IT or platform configuration position. The ideal candidate has deep health and welfare benefits expertise and uses Workday as a tool to support benefit plan setup, annual plan year changes, open enrollment, reporting, and employee elections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, or related field. 6 years of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum three years of HRIS experience, with two years of hands-on Workday HCM configuration experience, specifically in benefits.
  • Proficient in Workday Core HCM, reporting, security, calculated fields, and business process configuration.
  • Experience supporting benefit planning cycles in a corporate environment.
  • Ability to manage sensitive data with discretion and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Proven ability to design and sustain business processes, especially in environments with evolving system capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools for reporting.
  • Experience with testing, configuration, and troubleshooting within Workday or other ERP platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all Workday benefits configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and enhancement requests.
  • Analyze benefits data and system workflows to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, user guides, and training materials for HR and business users.
  • Troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and ensure data integrity through audits, reporting, and reconciliation activities.
  • Monitor system performance, user feedback, and business needs to recommend and implement process improvements that reduce manual processing time and improve accuracy.
  • Support annual open enrollment cycle, including system setup, testing, and post-cycle analysis.
  • Provide end-user support, training, and documentation efforts for end-users and stakeholders to drive adoption and understanding of compensation tools.
  • Stay current on Workday releases and industry best practices, proactively recommending enhancements.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Investigate and perform root cause analysis on system errors.
  • Proactively evaluates and recommends adoption of changes as they meet organizational needs and implement system capabilities.
  • Gather and document business requirements and translate them into configurations.
