About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded to 36 branch locations, within 9 states. Job Summary The Benefits Coordinator will assist with employee benefit enrollment, account set-ups, workers' compensation claims, and general office administrative duties in the benefits department. Hours and Wages Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM Starting wage: $20.00-$22.00 per hour, based on experience

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • General knowledge of employment, workers' compensation, and benefits law and practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 1+ year of experience in benefits or human resources preferred

Responsibilities

  • Determine eligibility and completes benefit enrollment for employees
  • Assist with employee account set-ups through outside vendors
  • Respond to department inquiries, emails, and phone calls
  • Communicate any discrepancies between the insurance adjustors and employees
  • Create, modify, update, and audit department databases with proper information
  • Prepare and distribute newly eligible employee and qualified life event insurance packets
  • Prepare invoices for employees on company leave of absence
  • Prepare incoming payments from employees for balances in arrears and COBRA participants
  • Process separation related benefit material and adhere to COBRA policies while monitoring employee and dependent eligibility for group insurance plans
  • Participate and assist in scheduling meetings, trainings, and special projects
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
