About The Position

PERMA acts as the administrator for our Health Insurance Fund (HIF) business. Our HIFs have been in business since 1992 representing 336 Public Entity clients representing 7 independent Funds representing Municipalities and Boards of Education. Job Summary: As a key member of the Implementation Team, the Implementation Specialist is responsible for supporting the Implementation Manager as well as our client and broker partners during the onboarding process

Requirements

  • Carrier Implementation experience is highly preferred
  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in Health and Benefits
  • Extensive Benefits knowledge
  • Knowledge of Public Entity business is preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional organization and client service skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with all levels of an organization and adapt communication approach to the specific broker, clients, vendor, carrier or other business partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products; Word, Excel and PowerPoint required

Nice To Haves

  • Life and Health License preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Extensive knowledge of carrier implementations including review of all Medical, Pharmacy, Dental and Retiree benefits
  • Managing the end to end implementation process including development and follow-through to ensure timely and accurate results.
  • Development of tangible markers to monitor key metrics
  • Update and maintain project timelines associated with the implementation.
  • Use of Technology to support all aspects of the implementation process. Additionally, needs to provide technical troubleshooting during the onboarding phase
  • Document processes and create materials to support the implementation and for future reference.
  • Coordination, support and provide backup to the production of Summaries of Benefits Coverage (SBC), Summary Plan Documents (SPD), and other benefit plan materials for accuracy for all lines of coverage for each assigned account.
  • Interact with internal partners, carriers, brokers and vendors to ensure that required information is received on a timely basis for implementation.
  • Perform other tasks, duties and functions as assigned from time to time in the routine broker/member/vendor management
  • Work independently on special projects related to departmental
