About The Position

Job Purpose: To plan and coordinator bereavement services for PruittHealth Hospice families and patients • Previous training and/or experience in death and loss issues. • Ability to interact with a variety of different age groups. • Ability to work well independently and within an interdisciplinary team setting. • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with individuals and groups. • Ability to handle confidential matters. • Ability to work a flexible schedule. • Possess knowledge of computer software, including proficiency in word-processing. Other Division or Job-Specific Essential Administrative Functions: • Plan, organize, implement and monitor the PruittHealth Hospice bereavement care. • Supervise bereavement care volunteers and develop volunteer inservice trainings. • Develop a bereavement plan of care for PruittHealth Hospice families. • Review bereavement assessment. • Refer families to other community resources as appropriate. • Organize and facilitate bereavement counseling groups. • Serve as a bereavement representative at PruittHealth Hospice interdisciplinary team meetings. • Document interventions with patients and families and update bereavement care plans accordingly. • Present training sessions on grief and loss to new hospice volunteers as part of the overall volunteer training program. • Assist in conducting educational workshops for the community. • Assist in providing bereavement support to staff members of facilities where hospice patients reside. • Coordinate with the Director of Health Services (DHS) and the interdisciplinary team that the needs of patients and families are being met related to bereavement. • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or the Administrator.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Master’s degree from an accredited theological school/seminary.
  • Completion of 1-4 units in Clinical Pastoral Education from a nationally recognized provider.
  • Two years of ministerial experience.
  • Appropriate endorsement within his/her denomination (e.g., ordination).
  • Previous training and/or experience in death and loss issues.
  • Current Driver’s License and Automobile Liability Insurance
  • Ability to interact with a variety of different age groups.
  • Ability to work well independently and within an interdisciplinary team setting.
