  • Working knowledge of OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E and 855, IFC 1206, and awareness of UL 9540/9540A implications.
  • Valid driver's license; Class B CDL preferred.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours, nights, or weekends as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs; navigate uneven terrain; climb equipment; and work in varied weather conditions.
  • Participation in storm restoration or emergency response as assigned.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and drive results through others.

  • Utility interconnection and commissioning experience on utility-scale BESS or equivalent power projects.
  • Experience with prevailing wage/Davis-Bacon compliance and certified payroll processes.
  • Experience coordinating OEM energization/testing and utility witness/acceptance.

Responsibilities

  • Own site safety leadership: champion JSAs/JHAs, LOTO, hot work, and fire protection; enforce OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E/855, IFC 1206, and company safety programs.
  • Plan and sequence work with 2-4 week look-aheads; align manpower, equipment, tooling, and materials to meet milestones.
  • Direct daily field operations across civil/site, foundations, underground and above-ground raceway, grounding, medium-voltage equipment/terminals, PCS/inverters, battery containers/racks, transformers, switchgear, and balance-of-plant.
  • Lead QA/QC: inspections, testing, torque/wrench logs, megger/hi-pot, IR scans; maintain redlines and as-builts.
  • Coordinate OEM and utility activities for pre-commissioning, commissioning (SAT), functional testing, and performance testing; manage punch lists and turnover packages.
  • Manage subcontractors: scope alignment, daily coordination, and performance; verify work progress and approve pay applications.
  • Run effective meetings and communication rhythms with owners, inspectors/AHJs, OEMs, and internal stakeholders; escalate risks early with recovery plans.
  • Ensure compliance with prevailing wage/IRA requirements and certified payroll documentation in coordination with the project compliance team.
  • Maintain accurate reports: superintendent daily reports, crew time, job briefings, delivery logs, equipment logs, and progress photos.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead foremen/general foremen; coach on safety, quality, productivity, and customer focus; conduct evaluations and recommend promotions/discipline.
  • Support estimating and preconstruction: site walks, constructability reviews, means and methods, and provide production feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Be a present leader—visible on site, first in/last out when needed; set the tone for safety, quality, and urgency.
  • Exercise decisive ownership—make the best decision with the information available and adjust quickly as conditions change.
  • Set clear lines of communication and accountability across field operations, PMs, and compliance, eliminating ambiguity and handoff gaps.
  • Delegate effectively; focus on leading people and production—not clerical tasks or parts running.
  • Model professional, customer-centric behavior; anticipate owner/OEM needs and follow through on commitments.
  • Continuously improve: standardize processes, document lessons learned, and raise the bar on productivity and reliability.
