About The Position

Responsible for the training, supervision, and direction of Beverage staff to achieve customer satisfaction and quality services while meeting/exceeding financial goals. Responsibilities Individual must be a self-starter and finisher on assigned and independent projects. Daily monitoring of budgets & labor controls. Daily direction of Beverage team to achieve financial and service goals. Proactively investigate opportunities to improve service levels and departmental performance. Insure the Beverage operation’s compliance with Scioto Downs policies, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), health and safety regulations including OSHA. Conduct ongoing training of existing F&B employees and the training of new employees. Beverage Supervisor will work closely with and under the direction of the Beverage Manager/Asst Mgr to ensure proper communication between Beverage department and others. Will possess the ability to communicate both verbally and through written documents to staff, managers and executive management. Will have the ability to recognize operational needs and analyze and facilitate the changes required in a fast paced high volume environment. Responsible for supervising bartenders, bar backs, and beverage servers. Monitor Team members’ performance and deliver commendations and constructive critiques. Interviewing and hiring. Scheduling and finding replacements for call-off Maintaining attendance records. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Will have two years’ experience in Beverage field.
  • Must be available to work long hours and varied shifts as business requires.
  • Must possess basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Products (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point) MICROS or similar POS System.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and possess good analytical skills to respond well to any problems that may arise.
  • Must be able to stand/walk/ sit for extended periods.
  • May be exposed to working in a noisy, smoke/secondary smoke environment.
  • Must be at least 21.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation.
  • Subject to pre-employment drug screening.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively
  • Safely work with provided cleaning chemical and equipment
  • Ascend and descend stairs and maintain equilibrium for an extended period
  • Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period
  • Ability to work in a smoking and pet-friendly environment

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Hospitality or Food & Beverage Management preferred.
